IPEX 1984
Ipex 1984 saw the launch of the T Offset machines. The TOM with its shute delivery and the TOK with a more conventional chain delivery. Also new that year was the multi colour M Offset (MOFPS) with Alcolor dampening. The two pictures below show the GTO demonstration area. On display that year we had two single colour GTO's one with numbering and perforating, one GTOZP printing labels and one GTOV producing London underground maps on plastic paper. Note the T Offset in the foreground. Other presses on show were; SORMZ, MO and a MOZPS. The largest press on the stand was Speedmaster 102F. Stahl had their own stand and the Polar guillotines were together with the Heidelberg presses.
During the build up. What the customers don't see. The day before opening and we're ready to go.

IPEX 1988
The make-ready center was the first live presentation at Ipex that year using a Spedmaster 72V and all the CPC units. CPC 103 on the press, 301 plate scanner and 2s quality control. All the plates had to be put on by hand and adjusted diagonally into register the same way. Only circumferential and lateral register was done off press via CPC 103 and no pre-inking program. A customer from the audience was giving the choice of a four colour job to be printed and the make-ready would start. Each stage would be timed, scanning the plates, plates on the press and first pull, job in register and finally ok for colour. The results were shown on display screens above the machine, with a total time for the complete make-ready. Freshly printed sheets were then handed out to the audience for closer inspection. The same presentation was done two years earlier at Drupa using a Speedmaster 102V.
Also shown earlier at Drupa was the 8 page web now making its debut at Ipex. Other new products that year were M Offset with in line coating and drying and Spedmaster 102CD with coating and drying.
